It is a moment of immense pride for SCERT Uttarakhand, particularly its IT Department, as Mr. Ramesh Prasad Badoni, IT Faculty, SCERT Uttarakhand, has been featured in the “Member’s Voice – FY 2026” section of the Sakura Science Club (SSC), Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), Japan. His article and Member’s Voice have also been highlighted in the SSC Mail Magazine Vol. 124, connecting his educational journey and experiences with the international Sakura Science community. The magazine lists “Badoni Ramesh Prasad – India” among its newly featured Member’s Voice contributions and highlights his continued efforts to motivate students towards global education opportunities, science, technology and higher education.
In his featured article, Mr. Badoni recalls his memorable association with the Sakura Science Program (SSP), under which he visited Japan in 2019 with six meritorious students from Uttarakhand. As a Physics and IT teacher, the programme provided him and the students valuable exposure to Japan’s advanced scientific and technological ecosystem. During the visit, they visited Nagoya University, interacted with professors, researchers and students, and experienced Japan’s research culture. They also visited Toyota Group research and development facilities, where they observed innovation, robotics and modern engineering practices. Travelling on Japan’s famous Shinkansen bullet train was another memorable experience, demonstrating the country’s technological advancement, discipline and punctuality.
More importantly, the learning did not end with the visit to Japan. After returning to India, Mr. Badoni continued to motivate students to explore international educational opportunities, particularly in Japan, and encouraged them to develop greater interest in science, technology and higher education. His association with the Sakura Science community has continued through educational interactions and collaboration opportunities, including recent meetings with JST-SSP members in New Delhi and interactions connected with IIT Delhi. His vision is to use such international experiences to create wider opportunities for the students and teachers of Uttarakhand and to strengthen STEM education, ICT integration, innovation and global academic collaboration.
